5 Ingredient Baked Falafels

If you are looking for an easy and budget-friendly addition to salads, wraps or to serve with dips, these 5 ingredient baked falafels are your answer. Made with only chickpeas, tahini, parsley, garlic and cumin, they make for a delicious pop of protein, bulk and flavour without the fuss!

Ingredients:

Baked Falafels:

  • 1 x 400g can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup of fresh parsley
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Preparations:


  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray.

  2. Place the chickpeas, parsley, tahini, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper into a food processor and process until you get a sticky, slightly coarse mixture.

  3. Scoop roughly 2 tablespoons per falafel into your hands, shape into small patties, and place on the lined tray.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp on the outside.

  5. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes to firm up.

  6. Serve in pita, wraps, or on salads.
